"Thank you," Ayden says handing me her pacifier, which she still has!
"Thank you," Ayden says taking my notebook away as I write in it.
"Thank you," Ayden says for putting on her shoes.
As you may know, she has been saying thank you for a while;however,the term has evolved to include interactions that do not even involve her.
"Thank you" she says when Daddy hands Mommy the remote so we can watch The Nanny.
"Thank you," she directs at the cashier handing Mommy the grocery receipt.
"Thank you," she offers the lady behind us for picking up something that fell off the shelf.
Thank you, thank you, thank you...Those two little words are a daily reminder to be a little more polite to each other... as well as a notice to watch out for Ayden...
"Thank you" can be heard when Little Joe, still in her carseat,is placed within her reach; and Ayden, who thinks of Joe as a doll, tries to lift her up.
There will be a "Thank you" when Daddy gets up from the recliner and is usurped by his gracious princess.
And, you'll definitley hear a little "Thank you," as she swoops in past her unsuspecting uncle, and makes a mad dash with the ranch dressing when he opens the refrigerator door.
Thank you, thank you, thank you... there could be worst habits for a child to have. She may push the borders of politeness sometimes, but all too soon she'll grasp the concept and we'll wonder where all the thank you's went... No more "Thank you" to Mommy for little kisses, no more "Thank you" to Daddy for big bear hugs....(sigh)...I, for one, already miss this.
